  Introduction:

  The Scotch pine, a Eurasian species, likes the mountains and sandy or gravelly soil. It has a purple-grey bark and leaves with pairs of green needles. The Scotch pine grows in a large part of temperate and boreal Europe, up to Eastern Siberia, passing through Turkey. The average height is 25m and it can reach 35m. This beautiful tree, considered the most precious of the pines, has pine cones that are reputed to promote physical strength. Moreover, its pine nuts eaten before a battle made its warriors invincible.
